Salman Mehmood the founder of Thalassemia.com.pk is no longer among us. He left this world at 2 pm PST on 19th October 2009 due to meningitis.
He was a thalassemic himself, 24 years old, working as a web developer for a US based company named ‘Directors Advantage’.
His dream was to save next generation from thalassemia, he wanted badly assembly to pass the thalassemia prevention bill and how unlucky of him that bill just got pass when he died…, he wanted to aware every single soul about thalassemia, he even mentioned his cause on a TV show, you can see the video on Youtube.
Rest about him I won’t write because other bloggers/journalist/writers have written on him a lot. As a brother he was a gem!

I feel really sorry for we lost a precious citizen and friend of our country, who aimed and served the welfare of the thalassemia, his mission should be continued so that his dreams must be fulfilled , a dream of Thalassemia free Pakistan ,InshaAllah , May Allah Reward him for his service of humanity and bless him with his blessings.(AMEEN)

May ALLAH grant him with highest level in JANNAH…
I viewed a debate of him from YPP forum and I was really amazaed by his mindset to make Pakistan a Thalassemia free state… I am here to carry on his work so if anyone at anytime need any kind of help let me know.

Fearless, Determined and pathfinder. He has started some thing that some one can only imagine of doing at his age. Great achiever. Assalamoalaikum
It is indeed sad to hear about the death of a trail blazer – somebody who took it upon himself to help those with thalassemia. I never knew him in person and I just read about him through the dawn website but I have incredible respect for people who take the initiative to help others. O Allah, forgive him his sins and grant him your mercy in the hereafter and grant his family the patience and fortitude to bear this great loss. Ameen.
